Use FTP to Manage Files

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. FTP software is used to upload and download files from your domain to your local computer.

You'll need some information from us before you can start using FTP.

  • You will need your domain (in some cases this will be an IP address.
  • Your username that we provided
  • Your password that we provided

The FTP client will ask you the domain information (IE. www.yourdomain.com, yout username and password.

You will be required to turn off "Anonymous" login and use "Normal"

Click the "Connect" button with your FTP client and you will be able to access to your server.

You will want to upload your files to a directory called "httpdocs". An index file is required in order for your web site to appear correctly in the web browser.
